Dispatches documentary uncovering poor conditions at a factory making New Look clothes prompts fashion chain to call in Ernst & Young to look into its supply chain
ERNST & YOUNG has been called in by fashion chain New Look to investigate its supply chain following a documentary exposing poor working conditions at a factory making its clothes.
Channel 4’s Dispatches programme on Monday uncovered overcrowded and insanitary conditions at a factory in Leicester operating under the name Sammi Leisurewear. Although not a direct supplier to New Look, the company had been sub-contracted by an official supplier.
The revelations prompted New Look to ask the Big Four firm to examine its supply chain to ensure there were no other nasty surprises, according to the Telegraph.
