Top ten firm steps up its Manchester tax drive
SMITH & WILLIAMSON has taken the next step in its drive to expand in Manchester, by relocating to a bigger office.
The firm, ranked eighth in the Accountancy Age Top 50 +50 survey, has taken 2,000 sq ft at Vantage Point in Spinnigfields on a five-year lease.
It had previously been based within Begbies Traynor’s office on Deansgate. Smith & Williamson’s foray into the area began in 2011 when it acquired Begbies’ BTG tax division.
Leo Coyle (pictured), partner and head of tax investigations in Manchester, said the move would give the firm scope to expand.
“We are delighted to have relocated to the heart of this vibrant business district. The new office gives us an independent location and our intention, in due course, is to increase our current numbers to provide a full tax offering,” said Coyle.
