Accountant joins AngloGold Ashanti board
Gold exploration business AngloGold Ashanti has recruited Rhidwaan Gasant to its board, audit and corporate governance committees
Accountant Rhidwaan Gasant has been appointed to the board of gold
exploration company AngloGold Ashanti.
Gasant will also sit on the audit and corporate governance committees for the
business.
He was previously chief executive of Energy Africa, a subsidiary of Petronas,
the oil and gas exploration business. Energy Africa had assets off the African
coast prior to its acquisition by Tullow Oil in 2004.
Gasant currently sits on the board of international company MTN, Africa’s
largest mobile phone operator.
AngloGold Ashanti’s chairman Tito Mboweni said Gasant’s appointment would
compliment the “skills and experience” the company board already has.
