Bar Council asked to investigate courtroom behaviour
Gordon Pollock QC, who acted for Deloitte, the liquidator to the Bank of
Credit and Commerce International, in its failed case against the Bank of
England, is facing a possible investigation of his behaviour during the trial
after it was slammed by Justice Tomlinson, the judge who presided over the case.
Labour MP and lawyer Keith Vaz, a member of the Commons Constitutional
Affairs Select Committee, will ask the Bar Council to investigate whether Gordon
Pollock’s behaviour during the trial was inappropriate, the Daily
Telegraph reported.
Vaz, said: ‘Justice Tomlinson’s remarks about Mr Pollock’s behaviour in court
were extraordinary and it would be appropriate for the Bar Council to study the
judge’s criticisms.
The Bar Council is the governing body of barristers.
Pollock declined to comment.
