Total worldwide membership now stands at 105,000, while ACCA’s student numbers have reached 240,000.
ACCA chief executive Allen Blewitt said: ‘These results demonstrate the global popularity of ACCA’s qualifications.’
The ICAEW currently has 126,490 members, while its student roll stands at 8,900. CIMA has 62,000 members and 80,000 students.
CIPFA will this week reveal figures showing that its membership has reached 13,499 and number of students hit 2,954.
Should a much touted merger between CIPFA, CIMA and the ICAEW go ahead, it would create an institute way ahead of ACCA on member numbers, with 201,000, but way behind on students at 91,000.
Student numbers grew for ACCA in the UK by 16,400 and 2,500 in Ireland. Central and eastern Europe saw numbers grow by more than 15%. China, Malaysia and Singapore added 15,000 students, and Pakistan 7,000.
