Accountant becomes Birmingham's new Lord Mayor

Randal Brew, an accountant who married his wife on the day
England won the
Football World Cup in 1966, will become
Birmingham’s
new Lord Mayor this week.
Brew, who was a councillor for 10 years and also served as a city magistrate
for 23 years, has been awarded an OBE for his public and political service.
He runs the accounting firm Randal Brew & Co, based in Birmingham’s
Jewellery Quarter and has served on several council committees.
He said he and his wife were ‘very proud Brummies’, having lived in the city
all of their lives.
