Those ICAEW staff and volunteers who remember the reign of the formidable Dame Sheila Masters as institute president are in for a surprise should they visit the National Portrait Gallery.
The determined gaze of Baroness Noakes, as she is now known, features as one of 27 photo portraits at its ‘In the City’ collection, taken from a 138 picture strong ‘photographic documentary of London’s Square Mile’.
Photographer Ed Barber tells TS that he knew she would take a good photo.
However, Ernst & Young chief Nick Land, who also features in Barber’s ‘documentary’, failed to make it into the gallery.
‘There’s not enough room for too many accountants,’ explained Barber.
