The Business Application Software Developers' Association is launching a free booklet aimed at helping UK businesses deal with the practical issues arising from the euro.
Called The Euro & UK Business in 2002, it will be available from the first week of December and will cover issues such as how to transfer obsolete currency balances in financial accounts and how to restate foreign fixed assets into euros.
‘Unfortunately, there has been very little information for businesses about the implications of the new currency and, consequently, users don’t know what to do,’ said BASDA chief executive Dennis Keeling.
He added: ‘As a result, the software vendors are finding themselves in the front line with support departments inundated with queries about the euro.
‘In response to this we have decided to produce the free booklet, which will be downloadable from the BASDA website at www.basda.org.’
