The Financial Services Authority will face an examination of its record and
effectiveness by the National Audit Office, in the first-ever formal review of
its kind.
Ed Balls, the economic secretary to the Treasury, will announce today that the
National Audit review will focus on how the FSA is managed and its five areas of
work.
Areas under scrutiny will include the FSA’s internal performance management,
its joint work with other organisations in Britain, its international influence
