Adam Waller to lead strategic tax consulting as firm deepens national growth ambitions
Cooper Parry has appointed former PwC partner Adam Waller as its new Head of Tax Consulting, marking a significant move as the firm looks to bolster its national tax advisory capabilities.
Waller, who brings more than 25 years of tax experience, including the last 14 at PwC, will take charge of Cooper Parry’s strategic advisory work across business tax, private client services and transaction tax.
Waller joins the firm’s Manchester office, with a remit to scale its national presence in the sector.
“After 14 fantastic years at PwC and a career in the Big 4, I was ready for a new challenge and Cooper Parry really stood out,” said Waller.
“The firm’s energy, ambition, and people-first culture are genuinely different. CP is growing fast, making waves in the market, and I’m excited to help shape the next chapter of its tax advisory journey.”
During his tenure at PwC, Waller held the role of Market Senior Partner for the North West and advised clients ranging from entrepreneurial ventures and private businesses to large corporates and high-net-worth individuals.
His appointment comes as mid-sized firms across the UK double down on advisory services to capture new growth opportunities, with demand rising in areas such as shareholder exits, inheritance tax planning, succession strategies, employee incentives and efficient structuring for business and personal wealth.
“Adam’s arrival is a major boost for our tax team,” said Simon Baines, Head of Tax at Cooper Parry.
“He brings deep technical knowledge, commercial insight, and a passion for helping clients navigate complex challenges. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to expand our national advisory offering.”
Waller’s hiring reflects broader industry trends, as top-tier talent from Big Four firms increasingly seek out new environments that promise greater agility, client intimacy, and entrepreneurial culture.
With offices across the Midlands, North West, London and Scotland, Cooper Parry has been steadily growing its national footprint.
The addition of Waller signals its intent to further scale up its tax advisory offering at a time when private clients and owner-managed businesses face an increasingly complex tax and regulatory landscape.
