Evelyn Partners launches new graduate programme

Evelyn Partners has recently announced the launch of a Financial Planning graduate programme. This initiative is set to train the next generation of financial planners, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the financial industry.

The new graduate programme s designed to equip recruits with the ability to build relationships with clients, assess their complete financial position, build flexible plans, and provide appropriate recommendations of services and products.

The programme, which will welcome its first cohort in September 2024, is initially being offered in London, Glasgow, and the North West.

Emma Sterland, head of financial planning at Evelyn Partners, commented on the launch, stating that the programme forms part of their ongoing commitment to invest in their people and provide the best possible teams to work with their growing client base.

Gaining a competitive edge

At a time when talent within the accounting sector is scarce, graduate programmes like the one launched by Evelyn Partners offer a competitive edge to  firms. They not only attract top talent but also ensure that the recruits are trained according to the firm’s standards and values. A positive experience during the first few years in the profession, is also likely to lead to brand loyalty.

Caroline Scale, who was recently appointed vice president of the ICAEW, has been with Bishop Fleming since 1988 when she joined the firm as a graduate. During her time at the firm, she gained experience in audit and accounts for owner managed business and is now the practice assurance partner for the firm.

The Evelyn Partner’s programme also supports the graduates in completing their professional qualification via partnerships with market-leading training providers, allowing them to gain the expert knowledge needed to jumpstart their career in financial planning.

Real world experience

One of the key benefits of such programmes is the hands-on experience they provide.

Graduates on Evelyn Partners’ new programme will work on front office financial planning tasks alongside studying for the Personal Finance Society Diploma, before moving forward to becoming a Chartered Financial Planner through the Chartered Insurance Institute.

This ensures that they develop a broad range of skills while learning how to apply their new knowledge to real client scenarios.
