Audit and accounting tech update: BDO, QuickBooks and more

Audit and accounting tech update: BDO, QuickBooks and more

On February 24, AI audit technology company Engine B announced the launch of its new data processing tool, the EB Integration Engine. According to Engine B, the new tool will “radically improve audit quality” by simplifying data preparation.

On February 17, software provider Intuit QuickBooks announced that it is forming a new strategic partnership with UK accounting firm Broadbent. The partnership is expected to provide Broadbent’s SME client base with higher quality data and forecasting.

On February 17, Sprk, an online provider of R&D tax credit funding, announced a new financing facility to support UK SMEs. Backed by a UK credit asset manager, the solution provides up to £50m of lending capacity and is aimed at supporting SMEs who are looking to accelerate their R&D programmes.

8×8, a cloud communications platform provider, has announced a partnership with global advisory firm BDO. Announced on February 17, the deal will see the launch of two new products (8×8 XCaas and 8×8 Voice for Microsoft Teams) to “enhance communication, collaboration and customer engagement” for BDO’s UK employees.

On February 9, Tiger Recruitment announced its expansion into finance and accounting. Tiger Finance, a new dedicated division, will aim to source finance and accounting talent at all levels across the UK and around the world, the firm said.

On February 9, accounting software provider The Neat Company (Neat) announced a new partnership with Raven, a document scanning technology firm. According to Neat, the partnership will enable small business customers to digitise paper-based documents for safe and searchable digital use.

Finally, on February 7, Intuit Quickbooks announced a new strategic partnership with OnPoint Accounting Group. According to Intuit Quickbooks, the partnership will seek to enhance both firms’ product offerings and vision to support start-ups, freelancers and small businesses.
