Accounting and audit tech update: Sage for Accountants, Modus Analytics and more

On November 24, cloud enterprise software group Sage announced the launch of its newest solution – Sage for Accountants. The group said that the solution will remove the friction from practice management by providing onboarding, connected client management and productivity tools, fully-digitised data collection, smart reporting, bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance.

“Having digital products isn’t enough – accountants need truly digitised tools and connected, frictionless experiences,” said Neal Watkins, EVP, small business segment, Sage.

Pixie, a provider of practice management and workflow automation solutions for small accounting and bookkeeping firms, has raised £2.2m in a seed funding round. Led by Triple Point Ventures and announced on November 18, the fresh investment will be used to expand the team and continue the development of integration and workflow automation features.

On November 8, data analytics specialist Modus launched a white-label service for accountancy firms that will enable them to offer a data analytics service to their clients. Modus intends that the service will allow firms to establish their own data analytics department, delivering an additional revenue line.

Finally, on November 22, Amsterdam-based blockchain technology software company mintBlue announced that it has been selected by VISMA | yuki, a Europe-based provider of cloud accounting software solutions, to integrate blockchain-based functionalities into its cloud accounting platform. VISMA | yuki customers can now make use of blockchain-based functionalities to improve efficiency and eliminate vectors for financial malpractice.
