CIMA in talks with ICAS and CIPFA about offering routes to membership

CIMA is in discussion with ICAS and CIPFA about offering routes to CIMA membership and the CGMA designation.

The institute said it will discuss how it can co-operate with CIPFA to strengthen public sector financial management. CIMA will also discuss routes for senior members of ICAS as well as other ways in which they can work together for the benefit of their members and the profession, it said.

The discussions come a month after CIMA and AICPA members voted to establish a new accounting association, which will launch next year.

Charles Tilley, who retired as CEO of CIMA earlier this month, said: “CIPFA is one of the most respected professional bodies in the public sector in the world with members based across the globe. Its members are increasingly bringing business-focused skills and judgments to their organisations, and CIMA is delighted to be working with CIPFA to build upon an already world-renowned level of training.”

“ICAS is one of the most respected professional bodies in the world with members based across 100 countries. Its chartered accountants are increasingly moving into business-focused roles and CIMA is delighted to be working with ICAS to build upon an already world-renowned level of training.”
