Mazars hires one tax partner and two directors
MAZARS HAS MADE three additions to its tax team, hiring a partner and two directors in its London office.
David Prestwich has joined as a corporate tax partner and head of the London tax practice. He will focus on large corporates and international businesses, having spent ten years at KPMG before joining Mazars. He has experience in M&A and international tax structuring and has in recent years worked on transactions in telecoms, leisure and private equity.
He is joined by Tori Magill, who takes the director of tax investigations role following a 13-year career with HMRC. Magill specialises in fraud and avoidance investigation and has worked in HMRC’s highest profile investigation roles.
Prior to joining Mazars, she was a group leader in HMRC’s specialist investigations directorate, responsible for HMRC’s investigations into the most complex and high profile fraud and avoidance investigations and litigation. She also managed the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility team in London.
Tony Monger is a former HMRC inspector and investigation team leader with 25 years’ service. Since leaving HMRC, he has worked within PwC’s tax investigation practice, as well as head of direct tax investigations for law firm Irwin Mitchell. He also had his own practice as a tax investigation specialist based in the south west and South Wales before being recruited to join Deloitte’s national tax investigation and dispute resolution group.
Mazars national head of tax Tim Davies said: “I’m really delighted to welcome such a talented group of professionals to the team. We’re continuing to actively recruit quality individuals to enhance our existing teams and look forward to announcing further new arrivals in due course.”
