KPMG opens up a new tech centre in Leeds
KPMG signs deal for new tech centre in Leeds which will create 200 roles and allow the firm to trial and share technology with clients
KPMG HAS SIGNED A DEAL to create a new client hub in the Leeds’ city centre.
The move will see the firm create 200 roles for its national innovation and solutions centre. KPMG has signed a ten year lease for 28,500sq ft in the area’s Broad Gate centre.
The area is currently under renovation to be ready for January 2014 with KPMG already announcing what the division will be tasked with.
It aspires to assist clients with major transformation opportunities. KPMG also hopes to create a high tech client collaboration suite in the spring, as a way to share technology insights and trial new products with and on behalf of clients. This division will form part of the national KPMG programme of investment in technology innovation centres across the UK, including its start-up hub in London’s Tech City.
Chris Hearld, KPMG’s Leeds office senior partner, said: “Our investment in this national operation underlines KPMG’s belief in and commitment to Leeds as an excellent base from which to do business.
“There are more than 800 people working in our existing Leeds office so we have every confidence that the city supplies top quality employees and the infrastructure that business needs, from transport to social.”
A statement from KPMG said it wanted to create the hub in Leeds due to the availability of the skilled population, graduate and undergraduate talent pool, the high quality and flexible space as well as good transport links.
