LUBBOCK FINE has appointed its first female partner Clare Munro to its tax division.
Munro (pictured) trained with Arthur Andersen before joining Price Waterhouse where she stayed for eight years leaving as senior tax manager in 1998 for a partner role at Haslers, where she has served for the last 14 years.
According to Lubbock her appointment has fulfilled “a long held ambition to appoint a female partner”.
“Although Accountancy Age reports that progress of women in the profession has been disappointingly slow over the past 25 years, [7 August 2012] I’ve never felt that gender has been an issue in my working life,” said Munro.
“I do appreciate though that there are genuine difficulties for many women in this area but these days, a good balance is more achievable than ever.”
