G4S brings in former Cable & Wireless CFO

SECURITY GROUP G4S has appointed former Cable & Wireless CFO Tim Weller in a non-executive role, as part of a reshuffle.

Weller will assume his role with G4S in June 2013, joining from oil and gas service provider Petrofac, where he has worked since 2011.

Weller qualified with KPMG in 1985 and, following a 12-year stint culminating in a partner role, joined Granada as director of financial control.

Between 2002 and 2010, Weller had CFO positions at energy company Innogy, RWE Thames Water and United Utilities Group, a UK-based water and wastewater company.

He was CFO at Cable & Wireless between 2010 and 2011 before joining Petrofac, and also holds non-executive directorships at BBC Worldwide and the Carbon Trust.

Former Football Association and Royal Mail chief executive Adam Crozier and Paul Spence – who has spent 30 years in various executive roles with Capgemini – will also assume non-executive directorships.

Chairman John Connolly said: “I am delighted to welcome three new directors with impressive track records to the board – their experience in key G4S sectors and countries will be invaluable in helping to continue to guide the strategic development of the group.

“Tim Weller’s broad knowledge of the energy and utilities sectors – which are key strategic sectors for G4S – together with his experience of leading complex projects in strong international businesses, will also be beneficial to the group’s development and expansion plans.”
