Collapsed insovlency firm Bridge Business Recovery founder James Bradney files for bankruptcy
A FORMER FOUNDING PARTNER at collapsed insolvency firm Bridge Business Recovery has been declared bankrupt.
James Bradney filed for bankruptcy at the end of July, with the official receiver’s office in Kent appointed as the trustee.
In August last year, the ICAEW revoked Bradney’s insolvency practitioner licence with immediate effect by “urgent order”, as the ICAEW believed Bradney’s capability to continue to function as a licence holder was “prejudicial to the public interest”.
In July last year, KPMG administrators Colin Haig and Samantha Bewick were appointed to Bridge Business Recovery.
At the time, a statement from the administrators said “significant irregularities” led to the firm’s collapse.
KPMG’s Bewick and John Standish were appointed as liquidators on 21 December 2011.
Tony Murphy, also a co-founder of Bridge, joined Harrisons, which took over the London office of the collapsed firm. Former partners Andrew Duncan, Matt Evans, Alex Cadwallader and Rob Horton all joined Top 50+50 firm Leonard Curtis.
