KPMG administrators make nearly 250 redundancies at collapsed clothing retailer Peacocks
KPMG ADMINISTRATORS have made more than 200 redundancies at insolvent retailer Peacocks.
The fashion house appointed KPMG partners Richard Fleming, Chris Laverty, Ed Boyle and Joff Pope earlier this week.
The administrators have announced they have made 249 redundancies in the business’ head office, however, there are still 266 staff remaining.
Laverty said: “It is with regret we have made 249 redundancies at Peacocks’ head office in Cardiff, which follow a commercial review of the staffing levels of the business. No stores have been closed and will continue to operate as normal whilst we actively search for a buyer for the business.”
There are 563 stores and 48 concessions in the group. Previously administrators said there were 611 stores and 49 concessions.
A division within Peacock, Bonmarché which has about 3,800 staff, is not in administration and continues to trade.
