Sage shuffles boardroom

Accounting division MD Jayne Archbold promoted to make way for Jim Scott

SAGE HAS reshuffled its boardroom which will see its accounts division MD Jayne Archbold promoted to MD of the mid-market division.

She is succeeded by Jim Scott (pictured) as MD of the IT giant’s accounts division, responsible for all accounting software.

Scott was most recently head of SageCover, the business and software support service. He has spent 14 years at the FTSE 100 company in a range of positions such as general manager for Enterprise Business.

In his new role he will be responsible for taking care of Sage’s software and services for its 14,000 accountant customers, as well as rolling out updates which will include upgrades to tax technology, iXBRL.

Archbold joined Sage in 1997 as part of its Small Business Division. During the last 14 years she has held roles including head of sales, head of commercial marketing for Sage’s Small Business Division and general manager for HR, Payroll & Outsource.

In her new role she will be responsible for driving growth and commercial success for the division, which already has over 20,000 mid-market customers.

Other board changes include Lee Perkins who takes on the role of managing director for Sage’s Small Business Division. He was most recently country manager for Computer 2000, a distributor of IT products and services.

“At Sage, we believe strongly in managing talent and developing great leaders across the business that inspire, motivate, lead by example and empower their teams to be the best they can be,” said CEO Brendan Flattery.

“Jayne, Jim and Lee’s appointments represent the next generation of leadership for the UK business and mark an exciting new era for the company.”
