Barnier’s audit reforms ‘might be delayed’

CONTROVERSIAL audit reform proposals from Brussels might be delayed, with final plans being unveiled later than the predicted date of 23 November.

Championed by internal markets commissioner Michel Barnier, a spokeswoman from his office said “there is a possibility they will be later expected”.

The Big Four has lambasted many of the reforms, which appear to propose audit-only firms and mandatory joint audit for some of the largest listed companies.
