THE FINANCIAL REPORTING Review Panel is gunning for heightened transparency, consulting on proposals to increase communication with stakeholders.
It wants to share normally company-confidential information with fellow Financial Reporting Council sub-body the Audit Inspection Unit, with a view to improving “effectiveness and efficiency” at the FRC.
Significant changes to corporate reporting following panel intervention should also be made public, it has suggested, also calling for the right to make its own announcement when panel enquiries become public knowledge.
The consultation is partly driven by restructuring at the FRC. Stakeholders have until 30 November to comment on the proposals.
