PwC A-level hopefuls up 56%
A-level job programme sees 1,600 students competing for 100 places
PWC HAS seen applications to its A-level job programme shoot up 56% as 1,600 college leavers scramble for 100 places.
The results will be released on Thursday of the scheme, which appeals to students who are worried about the debt they are likely to incur if they pursue a university degree.
PWC’s head of people, Gaenor Bagley, said: “Anyone who has a genuine interest in pursuing a career in business has options. For us, this is about getting the right people into the right jobs at the right time for our business.”
The number of applications has increased four-fold since 2008, when 400 students tried for a place, while the size of the scheme has expanded from around 70 trainees to 100.
