Footballer Noel Hunt could face bankruptcy over an unpaid council tax bill
Reading footballer Noel Hunt may be declared bankrupt if he fails to pay his
council tax bill by the end of today.
The former Dundee United player owes approximately £2,281 to Perth and
Kinross Council and has until Wednesday to pay the debt, the DailyRecord.co.uk
reports.
The local authority obtained a decree, granted at Perth Sheriff Court,
forcing Hunt to cough up the cash for council tax on his villa in Inchture
Perthshire.
Sheriff officer, Dale Barrett, warned Hunt if he failed to pay the debt
within the designated time frame further action was likely, including seeking to
retain his wages and auctioning his belongings. He said Hunt was also liable to
be declared bankrupt.
Court papers state the warrant was served on 28 September, and gave Hunt
until 27 October to pay in full.
