Positive performance across UK disciplines sees increased margins for Michael Page
Operating profits grew in the UK for recruiter Michael Page.
Releasing its interims for the six months ending 30 June, the recruiter saw
revenues increase 3.6% to £142.8m, from £137.8m for the same period a year
earlier. Operating profit increased by 58.5% to £9.6m.
Its financial services, retail and sales divisions showed growth in the
latter part of 2009, and now first half of the year has seen improvement across
all its disciplines.
“In the UK, market conditions stabilised in the latter part of 2009 and there
is growing evidence of a gradual recovery in the first half of 2010,” it said in
a statement to the stock exchange.
Group operating profits grew 54% to £49.6m, from £32.2m.
