Vodafone shifts finance team to Hungary

Vodafone
has asked staff to consider moving to Hungary to work in the company’s
shared service centre in
Budapest .

The mobile giant has decided to base a service centre in Hungary that handle
the group’s financial processes and transactions. The centre will employ 700
people by 2009, the Daily
Telegraph
reports.

Vodafone hopes to staff the centre with internal staff.

‘We’re saying that some jobs may move to the centre,’ a spokesman said. ‘But
we will give employees a chance. Where possible we will ensure employees have
adequate time to plan their future.’
