Six years in jail for ’multi-millionaire accountant’
David
Walsh, 38, of Preston, Lancashire who posed a multi-millionaire accountant
and who stole plundered £682,000 from his employers, has been jailed for six
years following his trial at Preston Crown Court.
He had at already pled guilty to the theft at an earlier hearing.
Walsh had worked as an accountant for
Concept Buildings Solutions,
an insurance company based in Clitheroe.
Between May 2004 and January 2006 Walsh emptied the company’s coffers in a
scam that involved more than 200 transactions.
The thefts came to light when his employers were landed with a tax bill while
Walsh was in New York.
