Consultant named Audit Commission chairman
PA Consulting veteran gets key public post
Michael O’Higgins, a managing partner at PA Consulting, has been appointed as
the new chairman of the Audit Commission, the body responsible for appointing
auditors to all local authorities in England and Wales.
O’Higgins lead PA Consulting’s government and IT consulting groups and prior
to that had consulting roles at the OECD and at Price Waterhouse (now PwC) where
he spent seven years as a consulting and advisory partner.
O’Higgins will begin his three year term on the 1 October.
The Audit Commission employs over 2,100 employees and has an annual budget of
around £230m.
