The recruitment drive has kicked off after Roger Allard announced his plans to step down in the Autumn after two years in the role and 36 years with the council.
Westminster council is hoping to attract high-calibre candidates from both the public and private sector for the £135,000-a-year salary.
Chief executive Peter Rogers said the council was looking for an FD who ‘will be able to carry on and win arguments with government officials over grants, deal with the many pressures on our income and expenditure budgets and deliver improvements and an affordable council tax‘.
The council says it is offering a ‘substantial package recognising that this job requires high level financial skills and personal tenacity’.
