An email was sent to advisors working on the project, saying that all meetings were cancelled until ‘further notice’, the Financial Times reported today.
One member of the committee tasked with ensuring the reform is fair told the FT: ‘We have no idea what’s going on. It would be very helpful if they were not so opaque.’
Speculation over the reasons for the cancellations have started in earnest, with some wondering whether ministers were considering more radical changes to stamp duty.
