Resellers are being offered free training by both companies to become authorized to jointly sell the bundle. The new offering will be made up of an IBM xSeries server, DB2 database, Linux operating system with ACCPAC’s Advantage accounting software.
It will be available to ACCPAC’s and IBM’s resellers in ten european countries including the UK.
Keith Fenner, general manager Europe at ACCPAC said that the agreement goes further than the company’s normal relationship with database vendors. ‘ACCPAC and IBM are engaging in marketing activities to promote the bundle,’ he said.
The vendors want their resellers to work together to sell the package and resellers of both companies are being offered are free training. ‘ACCPAC resellers can get free training through IBM’s ‘you pass we pay’ programme and if any IBM partners wish to sell our software they can become a partner free of charge.’
IBM’s scheme works by refunding resellers that pass training programmes to sell its products.
ACCPAC reseller Sabis Consulting has already signed up to sell the bundle. Julie Bruce, director said the new campaign offers the company entry into a new product range and presents a good sales opportunity.
‘It enables us to deliver the ACCPAC Advantage Series financials on the IBM Linux platform into the UK and French marketplaces at a much lower entry cost,’ she said.
‘The strong support structure of IBM makes it a very exciting campaign and we are looking forward to some very favourable results,’ she added.
