Parties unveil their e-manifestos

Labour E-minister Patricia Hewitt, shadow technology minister Alan Duncan and IT spokesman Richard Allan MP of the Liberal Democrats expressed a commitment to science, research and development, and the need to attract relevant skills and properly regulate the industry to allow it to expand internationally.

Hewitt defended the Government’s record, and said that Labour was committed to helping reduce the skills gap and that the Government would invest heavily in funding scientific research. Read her article here.

Duncan reiterated promises that the Conservatives would replace IR35 with an alternative tax measure, and would review the Regulation of Investigatory Powers legislation. Read his article here.
