The only advantages to holding the CIPFA qualification (CIPFA looks to fast-track qualification) over other accountancy qualifications is that some local authorities, CIPFA’s main base, still favour CIPFA qualifieds or demand that applicants hold the CIPFA ticket on theiradvertisements rather than the CCAB requirement used by most employersnow.
However, if people can become CIPFA qualified through sitting just twoexaminations, will these not be looked upon by CIPFA qualifieds as secondclass CIPFA accountants having gained the qualification thorough the backdoor?
