Human resources specialist Towers Perrin has consolidated its consulting operations for Latin America. A new office in South Florida will serve both Latin America and the Caribbean, replacing smaller offices serving Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. The company currently has over 200 consultants in the region.
“Our clients tend to have their Latin American offices in South Florida too. Although it is our smallest region, it is also our fastest growing market, so we thought that it would be better to build up a critical mass of skills there, rather than have a whole bunch of offices in different regions,” said Bob Coscarello, regional manager for Latin America at Towers Perrin.
“On a practical note we cannot disperse our critical skills throughout smaller markets where we might not get an assignment for a few years.”
The firm has gone into partnership with three consultancies: Pericas in Venezuela, Inovacion Gestion in Chilli and Consulgei in Columbia.
The partnerships give Towers Perrin the means to tap into local knowledge and use the consultancies’ staff on assignments.
The firm has seen growth of between 25 and 35 per cent from its Latin American operations in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina.
