Kidsons takes over Halpern and Woolf
Kidsons Impey continued its aggressive expansion policy this week by taking over Manchester rival Halpern and Woolf.
The acquisition, which created a 17-partner practice based in Kidsons’ George Street offices, is the firm’s fifth major acquisition in just over a year. Other gains include Walkers in Glasgow, Edwards Little in Hereford, Hodgson Morris & Co in Chester and Hollingdales in Bristol, taking the number of partners from 152 to 156.
National managing partner Peter Douglas confirmed Kidsons’ intention.
‘Each merger aims to try and improve our position in that particular market-place.
‘We have other locations where we could do with improving the balance and are looking to continue to grow and develop the firm. There are a number of places where we are not represented or where we do not have the size or strength to offer the full range of services.’
North West regional managing partner Nick Robinson added: ‘One of our overall objectives is to achieve quality growth and enhanced profitability and we are delighted to have the opportunity to merge with H&W to help achieve this aim.’
