MG Rover inquiry bill tops £7m

The bill for the Department of Trade and
Industry’s investigation into the collapse of
MG Rover has topped £7m, the
Daily Telegraph has revealed.
At the same time, the DTI also said that the inquiry into the collapse of the
group – which cost 6,000 jobs – would continue into 2007.
The DTI investigation has been running for the last 18 months.
The newspaper also reported that the
Phoenix Four –
former owners of MG Rover – are set to become millions of pounds richer after
clawing back more than £16m from the taxman.
