We are very excited to be working with a UK Top 100 firm who are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual to join them as Head of Audit & Accounts in their London offices.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the Audit & Accounts department, focusing on the attraction, training, development & progression of colleagues, as well as acting as a technical go to for all queries from within the team

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Audit & Accounts Department
  • Manage Supervisors within the department, ensuring their roles are defined, optimised and impactful, as well as providing them with development opportunities
  • Manage the performance of the department in terms of WIP, billing and chargeable time
  • Take ownership of all recruitment within the department, to include trainee/graduate recruitment
  • Oversee, develop and manage audit and accounts Trainees on their career path to becoming Seniors Design and implement Auditing and Accounting training protocols
  • Take ownership of larger client audits to ensure an excellent level of professionalism and experience is applied to this chargeable work
  • Be in the position, as an R.I. to sign off audit reports
  • Lead the department in establishing the firm as an ‘Audit Centre of Excellence’
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects such as the implementation of the next generation audit software

The Ideal Candidate

  • Registered Responsible Individual with ICAEW
  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Substantial experience at Senior Manager or Director level
  • Previous experience in training and developing colleagues
  • Previous experience managing projects and implementing new systems & ideas
  • IFRS, SRA and Charity or other regulated audit work exposure
