Corporate Tax Manager
The firm, a highly reputable Top 20 Chartered Accountants, are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the growing team in Bristol.
We are looking for a manager with recent corporate tax experience to join our fast-growing and dynamic Bristol office to provide direct support to the partners by managing the corporate tax affairs of an existing portfolio of primarily owner-managed business clients.
The mix of work will be varied as the client base is across a full range of business sectors, including property, innovation, farming, financial services, sport & entertainment and not for profit.
In addition to the annual corporate tax compliance work, tax planning and advisory projects will arise as a matter of course across this diverse portfolio of clients. These will include areas such as group tax planning, property transactions, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, s455 tax and cross border transactions. The successful applicant will also work closely with the Director on stand-alone tax advisory projects, including structuring acquisitions and disposals, share based incentives, transaction support and due diligence. Tax accounting will also be an essential part of the role.
The role would also include responsibility for the supervision/review of work undertaken by the junior members within the team, including some staff responsibilities and work planning. The individual will in most cases report directly to the head of the corporate tax team and/or the client partner.
Ongoing training will be provided, with the opportunity for the individual to attend the firm’s annual tax conference and to attend both internal and external training sessions.
- The ideal candidate will be pro-active and resilient. They will require recent practical experience in running a corporate tax portfolio and have a detailed up to date working knowledge of corporate taxation issues.
- Experience of organising the delivery of tax work, problem solving and the ability to use their own initiative is essential. In addition, they should possess the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.
- Previous experience of using computerised accounts and tax packages is useful. The firm uses Alphatax.
- Applicants should be preferably CTA and/or ACA qualified.
The firm offers a highly competitive and market leading benefits and remuneration package, which includes a dynamic and varied workload and excellent prospects for progression, agile working and flexibility, performance-based bonus scheme and eligibility for the firm’s Profit Sharing Plan – just to name a few benefits.
