Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working in partnership with The Scout Association who are looking to appoint a Transactional Manager to join their team.

The Scout Association is the largest Scouting organisation in the United Kingdom and is the World Organisation of the Scout Movement’s recognised member for the United Kingdom. Following the origin of Scouting in 1907, the association was formed in 1910 and incorporated in 1912 by a royal charter under its previous name of The Boy Scouts Association.

Our plan is to build on the success of the previous plan: to continue to grow, become more inclusive, to be shaped by young people and to make a bigger impact in our communities. As part of our vision for 2023by 2023 we will have prepared more young people with skills for life, supported by amazing leaders delivering an inspiring programme. As a movement, we have grown for the last 13 years. We want to continue that positive trend, bringing skills for life to more young people across the UK. By 2023 we will have: 50,000 more young people aged 6-18 in Scouts, 10,000 more frontline adult volunteers (Section Leaders and Assistant Section Leaders) and 5,000 more Young Leaders.

Each week, we give over 450,000 young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future. The ideal candidate will need to lead the financial transactions process.  You will manage the transactional team and maximise their output and efficiency.  This will include identifying any developmental needs.  You will be providing business partnering support to the organisation in relation to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable queries.  You will be managing relationships with account managers and suppliers therefore it is imperative that you possess excellent customer service skills.  You will be maintaining records in order to prepare for Gift Aid Donations and any other ad-hoc duties within the Finance Department.

You will be responsible for looking at and suggesting process improvements, and overall planning and delivering financial support to the organisation.  You will lead the Transactional team and motivate them to deliver to their full potential and ensure a high quality of service is met every time.  Your role will include you reviewing outputs and ensuring a high degree of accuracy is delivered by the team.

Strong numerical skills

Excellent IT skills

Some Bookkeeping experience
