AJ Chambers are currently representing a specialist firm of chartered accountants who are seeking a Tax & Accounts Manager for their office in Birmingham. This is a mixed position, with a bias towards to tax, and would suit an ACA and CTA qualified individual with significant experience within an accountancy practice.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients while being supported by the Director
  • Providing proactive Tax and Accounting advice to your clients
  • Conducting regular meetings with clients, providing insight and analysis to clients on all business matters
  • Advising clients of their VAT liabilities and payment dates
  • Assisting the Director with business development
  • Taking responsibility for the quality and delivery of the team’s client work
  • Building your professional network and seeking out new clients
  • Promoting the business using your social media profile
  • Have an active involvement in relevant networking events
  • Reviewing work done by junior members of the team, including technical accounting questions
  • Review of Year End Accounts and Personal Tax Returns prepared by the team

The Candidate

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified
  • Excellent knowledge of corporation tax, income tax and VAT and the impact on accounts and client’s overall affairs
  • Extensive experience and working knowledge of bookkeeping, management accounts, consolidations and finance processes
  • Excellent knowledge of the statutory and technical aspects concerning a set of limited company accounts
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills
  • Having a ‘can do’ attitude
