Volunteer Finance Administrator
The Marfan Trust is a small niche heart disease charity with 3000 members nationally.
We require a pro bono/volunteer Chartered Accountant to provide finance administrator support role, involving recording and administering income and expenditure transactions, and assisting the treasurer to prepare quarterly reports for Trustees meetings, and figures for annual audit. Payroll administration and presentation of accounts to the auditor will remain duties of the treasurer. Our need for extra help has arisen in 2020, since we have become employers, as well as expanding membership, and fundraising activities. The administrator role involves bank records and administering both income (donations) and expenditure transactions outside the Imperial College procurement system. The Trust is implementing Imperial College London procurement procedure to order equipment, consumables, and office purchases. This administrator would also work with staff monitoring income, including merchandise income managed through the Trust's website www.mafantrust.org.
The Trust's main accounts are with CAF and NatWest Banks. Legacies are reinvested in separate UK Banks as a security measure.
One day per week working remotely, with office visits to Chelsea when required would be envisaged, so the position would suit a London based possibly retired accountant. We are seeking a flexible and adaptable individual who is set up to work from home. This role may well expand over time.
