Community Solutions is at the forefront of the council activity to enable and deliver social responsibility - evidence of our new approach to work differently with residents and empowering them to change their lives. The service acts as our front door for people-based services. The purpose of the service is early prevention, resolution and problem-solving to help residents become more self-sufficient and resilient. It does this by identifying and resolving the root causes of an individual’s, family or household problems. The service brings together skills and expertise across a breadth of areas such as homeless prevention, housing advice and options, tenancy sustainment, temporary accommodation, welfare reform, money, debt and benefits, social care and safeguarding, work and skills, healthy lifestyles, libraries, vocational services.
The My Place directorate is responsible for the management of the Council’s property, assets and infrastructure, including its housing stock, highways, commercial properties, parks and cemeteries. It incorporates public realm services including waste, street cleansing and grounds maintenance. You will be responsible for supporting the heads of service within these areas to maximize their resources and to develop and maintain accurate and effective budgetary control. Experience and knowledge of HRA & Temporary Accommodation will be desirable.
