We are looking for a ‘hands on’ qualified accountant to oversee the Finance function reporting directly to the business owners. The ideal candidate will be commercially focused and will be highly competent in dealing with all financial reporting requirements and statutory filing requirements of a business. This role would be ideal first-time mover from practice into industry. The role is varied and fast-paced with direct exposure to the business owners and the individual will need to be confident in assisting with key business decisions.
Training in the top 20 accountancy firm experience is essential.

Overall responsibility of the finance function
Preparing the financial statements
Ownership of the general ledger
Preparing the management accounts
Managing/reviewing all fiscal compliance including PAYE, VAT etc.
Oversight of statutory financial requirements including Companies House
Budgeting and forecasting
Balance sheet reconciliations
Review and decide upon key tenders for financial contracts and service providers.
Direct liaison for key contacts including financial accountants, solicitors, banks and other business advisors.
Maintain an ethos of continuous improvement
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualified accountant – Top 20 accountancy experience essential
Resilient with a questioning mind
Enthusiastic and hard-working
Attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Highly proficient in MS Office, specifically MS Excel.
Previous experience with Sage and Navision, desired but not essential.
Education and qualifications
ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
Previous experience of dealing with owner managed SME’s.
Management of dealing with a varied portfolio of clients or responsibilities.
Top 20 accountancy firm background desired but not essential.
Agricultural knowledge desired but not essential.
