Financial Accounts Team Leader

Bath City Centre

Expand your management and leadership skills as part of the University of Bath’s Finance and Procurement team. It’s a key role with a major university that has a turnover of £300 million and a major new capital programme underway.

The role

Offering a range of in-depth technical challenges, this broad-based role also gives you the opportunity to manage a small professional accounts team and the wider credit control team. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, you will help the University realise best value and achieve long-term sustainability through strong financial leadership and sound governance. Specifically, you will be responsible for the production of University’s consolidated financial statements. You will also oversee indirect tax reporting and compliance and capital asset accounting, and maintain the integrity of the University’s finance system.

The person

This role would suit a professionally qualified accountant, a sound working knowledge of the principles of Vat & Corporation Tax would be desirable, but not essential. Breadth and depth of experience is essential, and you will have worked at a senior level in a large and complex organisation. Just as vital is the ability to manage and create a focused and high-performing team of professionals and to foster positive relationships with senior stakeholders, so strong interpersonal skills are a must.

The benefits

In addition to progressive pay rates the University offers a wide range of staff benefits including membership of the USS defined benefit pension scheme, 31 days annual leave (in addition to bank holidays) and access to a wide range of employee benefits. https://www.bath.ac.uk/guides/staff-benefits/

We offer a full range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, campus facilities and services to support staff from all genders and different backgrounds.
