Add value where it matters most

MI5, MI6 and GCHQ, our UK intelligence agencies, work together to keep the country safe. Behind the scenes, there is an exceptional Finance team providing outstanding support. As a Finance Accountant it is here that you will be tasked with vital work that shapes all three agencies’ business decisions. Working across a broad range of areas to help them manage their money, you will be adding value where it matters most.

About the role

You will help ensure we manage our money effectively and spend it wisely. It could mean leading a small team, providing financial advice on issues ranging from planning and purchase orders, budget profiling, collating variance analysis or identifying risks and mitigations. Whatever the task, you will be looking for process improvements whilst making sure that it is completed in line with monthly and annual deadlines.

About you

You will be expected to be a qualified or part qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent). We offer financial and study support in gaining Chartered Accountant status to those with the talent to progress their finance career. You may have had previous experience of management and cost accounting, planning and budgeting, cash flow management or financial accounting. You will probably also be familiar with ERP accounting systems. Being able to express yourself well and build strong working relationships are key skills.

We particularly welcome applications from women and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates.
