The Role

The Falkland Islands Government is seeking to recruit a Corporate Tax Officer who will join the team in the Falklands initially on a 2 -4 year contract. You will be one of two corporate tax officers responsible for the assessing and collecting business tax receipts. You will be responsible for the application of the Taxes Ordinance of the Falkland Islands, focussed on Corporation Tax and Income Tax for unincorporated businesses. This will include the development and operation of systems to administer and collect revenues, and supporting the future policy and development of the legislation related to business taxation in the Falkland

The Person

You will have a proven track record of working in the corporate tax arena. You will have at least one of the following qualifications, HMRC full technical or core professional training, a chartered tax advisor or hold a professional accountancy qualification. You must be adaptable, a team player, and a sense of adventure is an advantage.   

The Package

  • Initial 2-4 Years Fixed Term Contract, with potential for extension by mutual agreement.
  • Salary Range £40k - £54k, starting salaries will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
  • Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity, paid upon successful completion of the contract.
  • 30 Days Annual Leave, plus government and public holidays (totalling 41 days leave).
  • Relocation Allowance, to help with moving costs.
  • Flights Package for you and your dependents, including mid-term return flight home.
  • Government Housing for rent at a subsidised rate and a starter pack to help you settle in.
