AJ Chambers are currently representing a growing Top 20 firm based in the City of London who are seeking a strong Audit and Accounts Supervisor to join their team. This an opportunity to work with a wide range of clients across several different industries. This will be an ideal opportunity for either an experienced audit senior looking to step up to supervisor or a supervisor who is frustrated with lack of progression in their current firm.

Requirements:

  • Produce a detailed audit planning memorandum, including details of any potential difficulties that may have been encountered during previous audits and ensure correct tests are applied to produce sufficient audit evidence, discuss with Partner, Director, Senior Manager, Manager 
  • Allocate sections to junior staff and brief on what is expected of them 
  • Answer queries from juniors throughout the audit 
  • Monitor the progress of jobs, ensure that budgets are met, address any problems that are encountered to ensure that the audit is finished within budget and time frame 
  • Check and supervise the work of more junior staff both on site and in office and complete any sections as necessary 
  • Check the work completed, produce review points for junior staff, monitor clearance of queries to ensure it is presentational and technically correct 
  • Ensure all hours worked on any client are recorded correctly, enabling a true reflection of the profitability of the job to be shown 
  • Complete analysis of items for tax 
  • Sign off audit sections, address any problems or queries and complete the file before passing it on to the Partner, Director, Senior Manager, Manager for review
  • To supervise staff and brief staff and allocate tasks and timescales
  • Ensure effective on the job training for all staff occurs
  • Complete staff assessment forms
  • Act as key point of liaison with client for information or queries

Ideal Candidate:

  • ACCA or ACA Qualified with at least 18 to 24 months PQE
  • Good up to date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards
  • Competent staff supervisory skills
  • Organised with the ability to deal with a variety of tasks
  • Team building and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
