Robert Half Cambridge are delighted to be recruiting for an Interim Financial Reporting Accountant for a business in Cambridge. The assignment should last approximately 3 months and will give you great exposure to the FinTech industry.

  • Monthly reporting
    • Delivery of month-end tasks to tight deadlines and understanding of the balance sheet and P&L impact of items under your control
    • Working with the Financial Reporting Manager, ensure all month-end tasks and reporting is completed on time, with suitable understanding and analysis
  • Balance sheet control
    • Control over your balance sheet items, in particular fixed and intangible assets using the Fixed Asset software within the General Ledger
    • Responsibility for the capitalisation process for internally generated software and capture of data for RDEC claims
    • Design, implementation and management of the balance sheet reconciliation, control and review process to ensure all balance sheet items within the Group are appropriately controlled and any balance sheet risk is managed
  • Tax and VAT
    • Preparation of the quarterly UK and Dutch VAT returns
    • Working with our external tax advisors, ensure all tax compliance requirements are met
    • Control over all tax and VAT balance sheet items
    • Ad-hoc tax and VAT reporting and analysis
  • Statutory, FCA and other external reporting
    • Preparation of group and stand-alone statutory accounts.
    • Working with the external auditors, ensure all audit deadlines are met.
    • Ensure all reporting and schedules from the general ledger agree to the statutory accounts and all year-end adjustments are simply and accurately recorded
    • Preparation of all other external reporting, such as FCA returns and national statistics reporting
    • Other ad-hoc external reporting
  • Other tasks
    • Control of accounts receivable, including preparation and capture of ad-hoc and regular sales invoicing
    • Ad-hoc cost analysis, queries and support
    • Cover for other team members

  • Good inter-personal skills and a team player
  • Highly organised and systematic
  • Intermediate Excel Skills (pivots, sumifs, vlookup)
  • The ability to learn new systems quickly and deal with change
  • Ability to work well under pressure, within tight deadlines
