I'm currently partnering with a Vintage Motor sport client on an exclusive basis to bring on their new Finance Director.

This role will allow you to be at the forefront of an entrepreneurial privately own business which is currently expanding into other markets which is leading into opening new offices, bringing on additional head count and improving their processes and MI.


The role of the Finance Director has overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the Group's operations and strategy and is expected to analyse figures and implement recommendations based on these findings and secure the most efficient and profitable outcomes. The Finance Director will form a close working relationship with and secure the trust of the Executive Chairman, Directors and General Manager. The role will report to a single designated board director.
  • Take overall control of the group's accounting function.
  • Be responsible for all company secretarial activities and for the Group's human resources, information technology, procurement, risk and compliance functions
  • Contribute fully to the development of group strategy, budget and planning across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
  • The Finance Director will proactively manage cashflow, banking and borrowing requirements and manage group policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity and risk as appropriate.
  • Ensure that group financial and other back office systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Lead and develop a small team capable of efficiently meeting the Group's finance, human resources, information technology, procurement, risk and compliance requirements.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the Group's cash management, insurance arrangements and tax compliance. This will require maintaining good relationships with lenders, bankers and tax authorities.
  • Agree annual accounts with auditors and tax advisers.
  • Identify and implement efficiency gains and cost reductions.
  • The individual will have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff, often having to work with various departments to help them plan and manage their own budgets.
  • Ensure that the Group companies meet their regulatory and legal requirements at all times including FCA compliance.
  • Training and improving skills of accounts team.

  • Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification
  • Commercially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic and insightful with strong operational skills.
  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance.
  • Experience of the motor trade or a similar consumer business.
  • Experienced manager with strong attention to detail.
  • A trustworthy reliable member of a team.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and critical decision-making.

Salary & Benefits

£50,000 - 3 days a week - PRO RATA (Great flexibility for the right candidate)
